As you navigate school, you may have many academic, non-academic and career concerns. Here’s how we help:

Pre Freshman Summer Seminars - These help you make the transition from high-school to university. In individual and group meetings, you can learn about the resources NYU offers and how best to make utilize them.

Freshman Academic Year Seminars - During your freshman year, you have weekly opportunities to meet with fellow Opportunity Programs freshman and discuss matters related to academics, financial aid, career and campus life.  We assist you with course registration and help you understand the requirements of your college.  We also equip you with skills related to effective study habits, time management, and goal setting.

Individual Counseling - One-on-one meetings are available for you to address personal, academic, social, financial and career concerns.

Drop-in Counseling - In addition to regularly scheduled appointments, you may also drop-in to meet us in times of emergency. You can also set up appointments for information and feedback.

Intermediation - We maintain contact with advisors and faculty in your academic department so we can serve as your advocate at school.

Activities - We promote clubs and special events to help you build a community on campus. See Happenings

Study Abroad - We help our students participate in NYU’s Study Abroad program. You are encouraged to gain international exposure at the University’s academic centers in eight countries or through its special, short term or exchange programs in many others.
