New York University Opportunity Programs

Can I apply directly to the Opportunity Programs?
No. There is no separate application process for the Opportunity Programs. The NYU Undergraduate Admissions Committee selects a limited number of applicants for further review.
When will I receive my decision?
The first step in the process is to be selected for consideration. Then, it must be followed by a personal, on-campus interview, and (if being considered for HEOP) an evaluation of your family’s financial documentation. Once all steps are complete, and if all of the required documentation has been collected, you will be notified of an admissions decision on or about April 1. Early decision applicants are notified in late December.
Why would I be selected for the Opportunity Programs?
The NYU Opportunity Programs offer the chance for qualified students to attend NYU by providing them with additional academic and financial support throughout their undergraduate career. You have been selected for consideration based on your academic credentials and the NYS guidelines. Also, the Admissions Committee at NYU has determined that your strong commitment to your education, in combination with your display of academic potential, is compelling, and we want you to attend and achieve success NYU.
